(Not just) A face in the crowd
Evidently, there remains a slight residual excitement from my visit to Anandpur Sahib for the Hola Mohalla celebrations last month. For, three weeks later, I am still revisited by snatches of animated moments, colourful masses, and visages: (mostly) enigmatic, proud, weathered, smiling. Clearly, they have found an indelible place in my mind. I would like to share a few of those images here. Take a peek.
Hi,
I wonder how they manage to carry those tall headdresses . Interesting photos. Thanx.
Thanks, Jai. I have been wondering about that myself. It has to be will power!
A study in contrasts – the obvious pride and nobility of the Nihang; the pot-bellied ambiguity of the modern state. I do of course refer to our glorious Punjab Police. Great pictures Puneet.
Thank you, Anu π
Nice pictures Puneet!
Is the young man atop the horse talking on a mobile phone?!
Thanks Rajnish.
And yes, he is! Quite an anachronistic image, isn’t it?
Very Vibrant ! Motivated to go next year.
Thanks Neenu. That was the intention π
Lovely pics.
Thanks π
wow! vibrant! kid with u is so cute!
He certainly is! Thanks π
Colourful photos of a force that, in the present, has lost its relevance, pupose and meaning.
Struggling for its identity by maintaining its habits, dress and mannerissm.
A treat to experience, nevertheless.
